On 26 June 2024, Julian Assange became the first publisher to be convicted under the United States Espionage Act for exposing the war crimes of the American Military. But this leaves democracy and press freedoms at risk.

A pardon from President Trump will correct a grave injustice for Julian Assange and reassert the importance of a free media and open democracy.
