Marcus worked undercover for ASIO for years. His cover was blown. He left Australia after credible death threats were made against him.

The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion wants to hear from him. It has told his lawyers his evidence engages its terms of reference and that it is eager to receive it.

He has applied twice for a visa to return. The first was refused. The second is still pending.

The Royal Commission can only protect a witness who appears before it in Australia. Marcus is overseas and cannot safely reach an Australian embassy. His lawyers say he has to be here to be covered.

The Commission reports on 14 December. The window to hear him is closing.
